Travel 🛫
One of the things I'm most grateful for is the ability and means to travel.
I started traveling when I was young, and I'm so glad I did. Back in my twenties, when my friends were carefully planning out every minute of their lives, I was quitting job after job if I was denied time off to go explore the world.
Now, mind you, if I had been planning out every minute of my life back then, I might have gotten married and been young enough to get pregnant with the 2 kids I always envisioned I'd have (and I know for sure I'd be divorced by now, but that's another story). Thank God it didn't happen that way.
Pre-9/11 was a different world. I once got on a plane to Washington D.C., but ended up at the wrong airport. My friend was at Reagan International frantically circling the arrivals area looking for me (mobile phones didn't exist yet, obviously!). Meanwhile, I was at Dulles getting steamed that she was late picking me up. My ticket said Reagan but somehow I managed to get on the WRONG PLANE.
